Fred Bigony joins Alcoa in Industrial Sales. |

Bob and Fred begin working together in Alcoa's Boston Sales Office. |

Fred discusses future of aluminum siding with Bernard E. Mendelsohn, owner of Harvey Window Corporation. |

1960 |
Barney and Fred form Harvey to manufacture aluminum siding, and Bob and Fred become vice presidents of Harvey. |

1961 |
June: Harvey becomes incorporated. Harvey' first office is in Dorchester at Harvey Window Corporation. |

September: Harvey moves into the old Waltham Door and Window Co. building at 39 Emerson Road. |

October: Plans for manufacturing aluminum siding fall through. Harvey concentrates on the wholesale distribution of aluminum remodeling products. |

Spring: Harvey becomes Bird's first vinyl distributor. Harvey hires their first employee, Lenny Swanton, to help out in the warehouse. |

Harvey becomes one of the largest distributors of Alcoa's aluminum siding. Alcoa stops doing business with seven other distributors in Boston to concentrate on selling only through Harvey. |

Barney Mendelsohn sells Harvey Window Corporation to an associate. |

Bob and Fred buy the Carefree Window Line and Panorama Door Line Equipment, and Harvey Mfg., Inc. is born. |

1970 |
Harvey begins to market and sell windows and doors under the Harvey name, replacing the former Carefree (and Cairfree) trademarks. |

Alan Marlow joins Harvey. |

1985 |
Manufacturing division adds premium vinyl windows and wood windows and doors to their manufacturing capabilities, beginning the Construction Products Division. |

Alan Marlow becomes president after working his way through various positions in the company. |

Harvey begins manufacturing the Classic vinyl window. |
